FREEMAN, Brian Tracy - Peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family and friends, on January 6th, 2009. Cherished by his wife, Patty Letourneau and sons, Morgan and Walker Freeman. Beloved brother of David Freeman (wife Carole) of Peterborough and Grant Freeman of Rossland, B.C. Brother-in-law of Nick Letourneau of Ottawa. Dear uncle of John and Jennifer Freeman (husband John Taylor), Skye Freeman, Christina Letourneau and Nathan Ryder. Predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Kathleen Freeman. Brian endured his illness with wit and humour, particularly with the help of his large network of family, friends and colleagues. Thanks to the Toronto General Hospital Transplant Team, CCAC staff and the doctors and nurses of the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at Mount Sinai Hospital. Brian's varied career included roles as Creative Head of Movies and Mini-Series with the CBC, Senior Development Officer at the Ontario Film Development Corporation and as a freelance scriptwriter and film consultant. As a theatre critic and journalist he contributed regularly to the Toronto Star, MacLean's magazine and others, published and co-edited the Toronto Theatre Review. Also served as Dramaturge and Associate Director of English Theatre at the National Arts Centre, and as writer and actor at Theatre Second Floor. Service to be held on Sunday, January 11th at 1:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto, 115 Simpson Avenue with a reception to follow at Tutti Matti at 364 Adelaide Street West. In lieu of flowers you are also welcome to contribute anonymously to the Brian Freeman Fund, towards an education fund for Morgan and Walker and funeral expenses.
