Betty Lou Carden, age 80, of Nixa, Mo., died September 12, 2005. She was born October 11, 1924, in Springfield. She was employed for approximately 15 years with St. John's Hospital until her retirement in 1990. In her leisure time, she enjoyed camping and fishing as well as bird watching and reading. She was also an avid Lady Bears fan. Her favorite activity though, was spending time with her family, to whom she was very devoted. Betty Carden is survived by her son, George Gary Carden, of Walnut Grove, Mo. daughter, Kathy Wyrsch Eldridge and husband, William of Joplin, Mo. daughter, Robin Gobetz and husband, Paul Severance of Indianapolis, Ind. and five grandchildren, Justin Wyrsch, Springfield, Mo. Michael Wyrsch, Joplin, Mo. Kelsey Carden, Ozark, Mo. Lynsey Carden, Ozark, Mo. and Will Gobetz, Indianapolis, Ind. as well as many friends. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1 p.m., Saturday, September 17, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, in Richwood Cemetery, east of Nixa.
