OWENS Betty Jean Owens passed away November 19, 2009. She was born October 25, 1940 in Jacksonville and was a lifelong resident. Ms. Owens was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville,The Women of the Moose and the Red Hat Society. Ms. Owens is survived by: daughter Kathy Clarke; son David Eugene Owens; mother Mary Kellams; sisters Fran (Ron) Thesis and Pat (Carmine) Amato; grandchildren Dana Clarke, Nichole (Jeremy) Miller, and Erica Brady; and great-grandchild Skyler Clarke. Ms. Owens was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alvin Owens and a son Rudy Owens. The family will receive friends Wednesday November 25, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville. The Women of the Moose will be performing their ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted by Reverend Dick Petry at 3:00 p.m. following the visitation. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Women of the Moose Chapter 305.
