ROBINSON Bessie Robinson, age 74, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. A resident of Bridgeport for more than 25 years, she was born in Orangeburg, S.C., March 23, 1934 to the late, Ozzie Shuler and Mabel Haigler. Before retirement, she had been employed for many years as a presser with Fairlawn Cleaners and then as a home companion. Left to cherish her spirit and memories are sons, Samuel, John, Norman (Mari-bel) and Leonard (Barbara) Robinson; daughters, Bessie (Willie) Forrest and Diane (Odell) Thomas; 12 grandchildren; two great-grand-children; brother, Irvin Haigler; sisters, Sarah Stephens and Loretha Moody. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Ronnie Haigler. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at East End Baptist Tabernacle Church, 548 Central Ave., Bridgeport with Rev. C. L. Stallworth officiating. Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. A private burial will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Arrangements entrusted to George J. Peterson Funeral Home, 1041 Noble Ave., Bridgeport.
