WINSLOW -- Beatrice G. Paradis, 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Lakewood in Waterville after a brief illness.She was born in Waterville, Dec. 30, 1922, the daughter of Arthur and Eldora Mae (Bennett) Brillard. She was a 1941 graduate of Waterville High School. Mrs. Paradis was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow. She worked at C.F. Hathaway for more than 40 years, where she met and married her husband and love of her life, Paul Paradis, in 1949. They enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii before his death in 1985. She was an avid Red Sox fan.Special thanks to caring and loving friends Pat Massey and Carol Huard for the many things they did for her. Also to Buddy Oviatt, who was a good friend to her, and to all the wonderful neighbors who knew her affectionately as Aunt Bea. Thanks to all the nursing staff at Lakewood Manor for the outstanding kindness and quality care that she received in her final days.Mrs. Paradis was predeceased by her parents; husband Paul Paradis in 1985; brother Eugene Brillard, who died at age 18; and brother-in-law Bernard Gilbert in 1988.She is survived by two sisters, Lucille Morrissette and husband Carroll, of Waterville, and Gloria Gilbert, of Winslow; nieces and nephews Robert Morrissette and significant other Tammy Card, of Scarborough, Kathleen Desrosiers and husband Rene, of Winslow, Gail Oviatt, Gwen Yueh and husband Alan, all of Durham, N.C., and Gary Gilbert, of Winslow; great-nieces and-nephews Ryan Morrissette, of Grand Junction, Colo., Asher, Hannah, Joshua and Caleb Yueh, all of Durham, N.C.By her request, there will be no hours of visitation. A graveside service will be held at noon Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
