Almetta Mae "Babe" Hudson, 87, New Smyrna Beach, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. Mrs. Hudson was born May 17, 1920, in Stanwood, Wash. She graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in math. Mrs. Hudson worked for 20 years with General Electric as an aerospace and military weaponry program simulator. She attended Coronado United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a member of the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Golf Course Ladies Club, and Habitat for Humanity volunteer. Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1998 and her son, Henry, Jr., in 1970. She is survived by her daughter, Susie, and son-in-law, Mike Kenney, Concord, Calif.; two grandsons, Michael and his wife, Shenafa, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Brian, Walnut Creek, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Wyatt. Burial will take place at the Fort Rosecrans Cemetery, San Diego, Calif., next to her husband and son. Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
