KOHL, Alma Eileen McGlennon 91, of St. Petersburg, passed peacefully to her new life in heaven on Friday, July 1, at home with her family at the bedside. Alma was born and raised in Springfield, IL, daughter of Michael and Alma McGlennon and sister to Eleanor. She graduated from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in 1940 and joined the Army Nurse Corps in February, 1942, where she met her husband, Clement (C.J.). In 1962 at the conclusion of his 20 year Army career, the family moved to St. Petersburg. Alma worked at St. Anthony's Hospital and then as a private duty nurse until her retirement in the late 1980's. She was a devout Catholic and 40+ years parishioner at the Cathedral of St. Jude where she served with great joy as a long-time member of the Women's Council. Alma is predeceased by her husband C.J. and her daughter, Jodi Clark. She is survived by her son, Ronald Kohl (Virginia); daughters, Michele Kohl, Kay Labrasciano, Mary Kohl, Teresa Hamilton; son-in-law, Michael Clark; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Thursday, July 7 from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm at Brett Funeral Home, 4810 Central Ave,, St. Petersburg. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 8, at 9:30 am in Our Lady's Chapel, Cathedral of St. Jude, 5815 5th Ave N.
