ROCHESTER — Alice Butler was born in Manchester on April 24, 1953, to Albert and Ida (Hartford) Ferguson.Alice passed away on Dec. 5, 2009, suddenly at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.A longtime resident of Rochester, she lived the last few months of her life with her home providers, Lee and Jenefer White in Middleton.Alice enjoyed crafts of all types, puzzles, board games, attending Adult Learning classes, "School," listening to the "Oldies but Goodies" music, watching her favorite TV shows, talking on the phone with her many friends, shopping and more shopping and taking care of her cat "Narla."Alice leaves behind brothers, Alfred Ferguson of Rochester, Albert Ferguson of Georgetown, Mass.; sister, Mary Meaty of Rochester; several nieces and nephews; her Community Partners family; her home providers, Lee and Jenny White and Lucy; special friend, Juanita Elliott; her cat, Narla; and many friends who over the years have come into Alice's life and who have been touched by her tenacity, her ability to overcome many incredible odds and her positive outlook no matter what the circumstances.Per her wishes, Alice will be cremated and a Memorial/Celebration of her life will be held on April 24, 2010, time and place will be announced at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice's name to Community Partners, 113 Crosby Road, Dover, N.H.Visit the online guest book at www.fosters.com/obits
