GEORGE HAMMOND WILLIAMS Age 78, passed away peacefully at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida on November 20, 2003. Born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943-1945, graduated from University of Detroit High School and attended Wayne State University. George was predeceased only seven weeks by Mary, his loving wife of 53 years. He is survived by his children: Helen Bonanno (Joe) of Sacramento, CA, Bill of West Hills, CA, Michael of Seaford, NY and Laurel of New York City. His grandchildren, Dan Greg and Kate loved him dearly. A successful broadcasting executive for over 30 years, George was respected and well liked by those who worked with him. He was a kind and generous man who loved life and spending time with his family. George loved sports, especially University of Michigan Football. He was an avid golfer until 1987, when he took ill, which limited his physical activities but not his warmth, sense of humor and zest for life. He will never be forgotten and will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church, Tequesta, FL on January 16 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the (AHRC) Association for the Help of Retarded Children, 189 Wheatley Road, Brookville, NY 11545.
