Obituary of William Sargent


DELAND - William Edward Sargent, 77, of South Woodland Boulevard, the owner of Country Basket Nursery and Craft and Gift Shop in DeLand, died Saturday at home. Mr. Sargent, a veteran of the Navy and Marines, who served during the Korean War, was born in Huntington, W.Va. He moved to this area in 1981 from Greenville, S.C. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shirley; two sons, Eddie, DeLand, and Denny, DeLeon Springs; two daughters, Martha Montgomery, Daytona Beach, and Dorothy Bills, Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Lane, Port Orange, FL 32129. Constantino is in charge.
