William Jackson "Jack" Pace, 83, of Gray court, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005.He was the husband of Lucille Miller Pace, and the son of the late Dr. W.T. Pace and the late Lula Mae Haithcock Pace. Mr. Pace attended the Citadel, and in World War II he served his country in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Suburban Propane Gas Co. After retirement he worked at Gray Court Owings School and for Hurdle Reality Co. He was a devoted member of Gray Court United Methodist Church, was Past Master of Schroder Masonic Lodge #144, and was a life-time member. He served as Fire Chief of the Gray Court Area Fire Department for 16 years, plus many additional years of service on the board.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William Robert "Bobby" Pace and his wife, Shirley, of Cross Anchor; a daughter, Karen Turner Sheehy and her husband, Richard, of Gray Court; four grandchildren, Chad Pace, Carley Bryson, Kason Rosser, and Kayleigh Sheehy; three great-grandchildren, Kelly and Savannah Bryson, and Hunter Rosser; plus a host of wonderful friends.The funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at Gray Court United Methodist Church at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Norrell and Dr. Clarence Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Gray Court Town Cemetery following the service.Memorials can be made to Gray Court United Methodist Church; or to Gray Court Area Fire Department at Gray Court, SC 29645.The family will receive friends at the home, 2120 Highway 101 N., Gray Court.Cannon Funerals and Cremations, Fountain Inn.
