William (Bill) Pace, 93, of Deltona, went to sleep in peace to wait for Jesus' second coming on April 22, 2009. He was born November 23, 1915 in McRae, Georgia. He was one of eight children of William and Susan McDowell Pace. William is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Gladys; eight children, Warren Pace of Atlanta, GA, Jerry Pace of Lake Helen, FL, Nina Jo Walters of Hollywood, FL, Philip (Jill) Pace of DeBary, FL, Marion (Curtis) Cloaninger of Vilas, NC, Chris (Susan) Pace of Boca Raton, FL, Linda (Charles) Walker of Daytona Beach, FL and Robert (Terri) Pace of Casselberry, FL; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Pace retired from RCA Corp. after 25 years working at Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Air Force Base. He worked during the early launches and through the Apollo lunar mission. Previously, he worked as a candy route salesman, a beekeeper, power company lineman, a radio repairman and a civil servant. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He showed his love for music and God singing in a gospel quartet in his early years and extending his service to God as a Deacon and Greeter at the Cocoa and Deltona Seventh Day Adventist Churches. Friends may call at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd. Orange City, PH: 386-775-4260 on Friday evening, April 24 (today) from 6 8 p.m. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 25 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1725 Catalina Blvd., Deltona. Interment will be at Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City.
