Obituary of William-A. O-Hara


William A. "Bill" O'Hara CAIRO - William A. "Bill" O'Hara, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who had worked Civil Service for the Social Security Administration, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Leona O'Hara. The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Cairo, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home in Cairo (229-377-2112). Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 11th Avenue N.W., Cairo, GA 39828, or the National Federation of the Blind, 1800 Johnson St., Baltimore, MD 21230. Other survivors include four daughters, Maureen Buyer (and husband Dennis) of Jacksonville, Barbara Edwards (and husband Wilson) of Cleveland, Tenn., Kathy Goolsby of Macon, Ga., and Christine O'Hara of Glendale, Ariz.; two sons, William O'Hara III (and wife Carol) of Littleton, Colo., and Michael O'Hara (and wife Pam) of Woodbury, Tenn.; three sisters, Vera Harris of Acworth, Ga., Betty DeCheck of Tucson, Ariz., and Patricia Simmons of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; a brother, Robert O'Hara of Longmont, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, Michael Buyer, Debbie Buyer, Renee Melson (and husband Jim), John Edwards, Nathan Edwards, Michael Gayle (and wife Maree), Kim O'Hara, Lisa Goolsby, Ryan O'Hara, Emily Goolsby, Crystal O'Hara and Tiffany O'Hara' and a great-grandchild, Jackson Nelson.
