Obituary of Thomas-William Gale

GALE, Thomas William (Tom). Passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the age of sixty-three after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-one years, Sandy as well as their children: Thomas McAndrew (Miranda), Shaun (Anja), and Corey (Dawn). Tom was the proud Grandfather of Thomas Anthony, Hailey, and Lauren. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas Anthony and Annie (nee Jennings). Tom will be sadly missed by his sisters and brothers, Anne (the late Stuart Mawhinney), Teresa (Eddie Slater), Diane (Kenny Murphy), Eileen (Harold Watts), Joe (Beth), Peggy (Don Prince), Maureen, and Kevin (Debbie) and was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tom enjoyed a long career at CN and retired with over forty years of service. He was equally passionate as a community volunteer, and was particularly devoted to minor hockey. Tom lived his life with honour and integrity; and was happiest surrounded by family and close friends; he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home (4275 boul. des Sources, DDO 514-685-3344) on Wednesday January 18, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. The funeral will take place at St. David's Church (12450 Gascon, Pierrefonds) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday January 19. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or V.O.N. would be greatly appreciated.
