Thomas J. O'Malley, 80, died June 11, 2009, at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart. He was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Palm City for 25 years, coming from Florham Park, N.J. He was a graduate of Seton Hall Prep. and Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J. He also served in the New Jersey National Guard. He retired as a general agent for Allstate Insurance Co. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, and volunteered at the church and at Hope Rural School. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Martin Downs Country Club in Stuart for 25 years and formerly a member of Spring Brook Country Club in Morris Township, N.J. Survivors include his wife of almost 56 years, Verna; sons, Thomas O'Malley Jr. of Jupiter and Pastor Christopher O'Malley of Methuen, Ma.; sister, Jeanne Wilson of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin, in 1987. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL. 34996. SERVICES: A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. July 22 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City.
