Obituary of Theresa M. Haggerty


Theresa M. Haggerty ROCKLAND Theresa M. (Gillis) Haggerty, 83, of Rockland died on October 1, 2009 at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center. She was born in E. Boston daughter of the late John and Jessie (McLenan) Gillis and was raised and educated in Rockland graduating from Rockland High School. In her younger days she enjoyed ice skating and gardening. Wife of the late Robert F. Haggerty, she is survived by her children, Kevin F. Haggerty and his wife Joanne of Pembroke, John G. Haggerty of Rockland and Roberta A. Bortolotto and her husband David of Whitman. She was the sister of Florence White and Patricia Patsy Burns of Rockland, Donald A. Wishy Gillis and Joseph P. Gillis both of FL and the late Alexander, John and Neil Gillis, Mary Steppe and Margaret Ryan. Theresa was the grandmother of Ryan Welch, Victoria Bortolotto, Nicole Bortolotto, Brian Haggerty, Scott Haggerty, Derrick Haggerty and the late Sean Haggerty. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., ROCKLAND on Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2009 in Holy Family Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers and to honor Theresas love for dolls, the family requests that visitors bring a soft doll that will be donated to Alzheimers patients at the Southwood Nursing Facility.
