Obituary of Signa-Margarett Oakes

Signa Margarett Christensen The passing of Signa Christensen of Perth-Andover occurred on July 5, 2008 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 86. Born in California Settlement, NB she was the daughter of the late Alton and Lucinda Oakes. Signa is survived by two daughters Janet (Brian) Ingraham of Pokiok, NB and Jolene Wall of Kenosha, Wisconsin; two sons Gary (Sandra) Christensen of Perth-Andover and Arlen Christensen of Woodstock; six grandchildren and one great grandson; one sister Elva Dixon of Tilley; three brothers Altie (Allison) Oakes and Vernie (Shirley) Oakes of CT and Ellis (Grace) Oakes of California Settlement. Predeceased by her parents, husband Earl Christensen, three sisters and five brothers. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 9th at 2 pm from Calvary Tabernacle with Rev. D.T. Ferrell and Rev. H.M. Lewis officiating. Recollections of mom were read by daughters Janet and Jolene and a reading was read by daughter-in-law Sandra. Songs for the service were "I Shall Know Him" sung by the congregation, "I Need No Mansion Here Below" sung by Rev. and Mrs. Everett Corcoran, "Take Everything But My Lord" sung by Carolyn Kinney, "In His Arms" sung by Rev. and Mrs D.T. Ferrell and a hymn medley was sung by Rev. and Mrs Ferrell and Carolyn Kinney. Honorary Pallbearers were Alyssa Wall, Ingrid Johansen, Juanita and Maxine Gee, Signe Williams, Wilhelmina McNally, Pauline Hanscom, and Vera Nevers. Pallbearers were Stephen Pray, Wilson Briggs, Anthony Dixon, David McGuire, John Kurkurski, David King, Seth Goodine, and Jim Pirie with interment in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
