Obituary of Ruth-Jane Day


>Ruth Jane Day, 59, Jacksonville, died of natural causes on Nov. 18, 2007 in St. Augustine. She was born in Phila-delphia, Pa., and had resided in northeast Florida since 1975. She graduated from St. Francis College with a master's degree in health sciences, and she held various jobs in the health field, which included working as a professor for several local colleges and technical schools. She was a member of Saint John's Cathedral and she showed her spiritual devotion through her commitment to The Order of the Daughters of the King. She was often involved in projects that helped others, using her creativity, generosity and friendship. Memorial services will be held at Saint John's Cathedral, 256 East Church St., Jacksonville, at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, with the Rev. Edward H. Harrison officiating. Flowers are gratefully accepted or those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to: Children's Hunger Fund, P.O. Box 7085, Mission Hills, CA, 91346-7085. She is survived by her loving family which includes two daughters, Jennifer Cogburn and Lynda Owens, both of Jacksonville; her mother, Ruth Dunn, St. Augustine; sister, Linda Kelso, Lexington, Ohio; stepchildren, Marlin Day, Jacksonville; Marcia Day, Gainesville; James Day, Crawfordville; and four grandchildren, Nicole Crissinger, and Christopher, Chase and Maxwell Cogburn. Kotrady-Hudgins-Croyle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
