Obituary of Ruby-Ann Olson

OLSON, Ruby Ann Ruby Ann Olson of Calgary passed away very suddenly at her residence in Calgary, AB at the age of 48 years on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Ruby is survived by her stepmother, Matilda (Tilly) Olson; siblings, Judy (Gord), David, Ken (Joann), Karen (Al), Richard (Doris), and Donald (Crysta); numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and several aunts and uncles. Ruby was predeceased by her father and mother, grandparents on all sides, several aunts and uncles, and five cousins. Ruby was born in Swift Current, SK into a farming family. She took her early schooling in Pennant, SK. After the loss of her mother, she moved with her father and family to Calgary in 1974 – continuing her education there. Ruby was a well-read person. She loved to bake and took a keen interest in politics. The Family was not given an opportunity to say good bye to Ruby, but we thank God for the 48 years God granted her to bless our lives. She leaves behind a place in our hearts that can never be filled here on earth. A sweet, gentle soul has now wound its way to heaven. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Danish Lutheran Church (formerly Sharon), 210 10 Avenue N.E., Calgary AB with Pastor Charlotte Berg officiating.
