->Kenney OP, Sr. RoseSister Rose Lawrence Kenney, OP (Elizabeth Ann Kenney) of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, died April 19, 2011 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY. She was 85 years of age.The daughter of the late Alexander Lawrence and Madeleine O'Gorman Kenney, she was born April 14, 1926 in New Rochelle, New York.A graduate of Blessed Sacrament School and St. Gabriel's High School, Sister Rose Lawrence entered the novitiate of the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor on September 8, 1950, made her First Profession May 1, 1952, and Final Profession May 1, 1955. Sister Rose Lawrence earned her RN in Nursing from Misericordia School of Nursing, a BS in Public Health from Hunter College of CUNY and an SPHN in Public Health from Teachers' College at Columbia, New York. She earned certificates in Bereavement, Literacy, and ESL. Sister Rose Lawrence is survived by many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces. She is predeceased by sisters Katherine Maloney, Lucinia Collins, Gloria Wendell, Agatha and Madeleine Kenney; and brothers George, Arthur, Monsignor Vincent and Bishop Lawrence Kenney.Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 9:30 am, at the Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center Chapel, 299 North Highland Avenue, Ossining, NY 10562. 914-941-4455. A Prayer Service will be on Monday at 10:15 am in the Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, in the Chapel at 11:00 AM.
