Obituary of Robert-William Norton

NORTON, Robert William61, from Delray Beach, Florida and Beach Haven, New Jersey died tragically on 12/31/13 in Delray Beach in a motorcycle accident. Bob was born on August 20, 1952 in Hackensack, New Jersey. He spent his childhood in Bogota, NJ. He lived in Summit, Basking Ridge and New Providence , New Jersey before settling in Delray Beach, Florida and Beach Haven, New Jersey. In all walks of life, Bob was a deeply humble and caring man. His genuine compassion towards others, overflowing generosity, and unequivocal love for life were the hallmarks of his interactions with the family, friends, colleagues, and community that he cherished. He was a gifted leader due to his integrity and honesty. He was a devoted and honest husband and friend. Most important to Bob were his wife and their many dear friends and family . He had a passion for Harley Davidson's and old American cars which was evident through their meticulous care. Bob loved boating and fishing, golf, and traveling for pleasure. He had a strong interest in politics. Bob was a graduate from Montclair State University and received his MBA from Seton Hall University. Most recently Bob was Executive Vice President of Smith Graham since March, 2009. He was managing director, head of marketing at Ark Asset Management from 1984-2009. He was at Lehman Bros. Management from 1984-1989. Bob will be missed by his wife Karen Norton, formerly Karen Pontier Gray. He also leaves behind a sister and brother in law, Janice and David Lefebvre of W. Milford, New Jersey, a niece and nephew, Julie Tomarro and her son Joey Tomarro of Greenwood Lake, NY and Mike Lefebvre and his wife Cindy of Yonkers, NY. A step-daughter, Lauren Gray from Jersey City, NJ. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Ruth Pontier, Manchester, NJ, brother and sister in law, Scott and Meral Pontier from Branchburg, NJ and sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jim Kymer from Bedminster, NJ along with many nieces and nephews who include Ryan, Tyler, Luke, Justin, Katie, Emily, Jake, and Aubree. A service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 at the Hilton in Short Hills, NJ at 1pm.
