Obituary of Robert Malley

<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Robert J. MalleyIndialantic, FLRobert Joseph "Bob" Malley, 93, died peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jacqueline (Jacky); son, Michael; daughters, Patricia Leibrandt and Mary Goodwin, and their families.Bob was born on January 20, 1921 in Galesburg, Illinois, and grew up in Chicago during the Great Depression. He was a World War II veteran who served in Europe in the US Army from 1942-1946. A Knox College graduate, he was inducted into their Hall of Fame for football and basketball.Since moving to Indialantic in 1961, Bob has been a key figure in building development and real estate. He served on the boards of Trinity Towers, Easter Seals and the Melbourne Kidney Center, and was a founding member and past President of the Melbourne Central Catholic Booster Club. A true patriot, Bob lived his life in the service of his family, friends, community and country. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 6th at 3 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Melbourne Beach, where Bob and Jacky have been faithful members since its founding over 30 years ago.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Melbourne Central Catholic Scholarship fund.
