Obituary of Robert-Emmett Norton


-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Norton, RobertEmmettRochester: Robert Norton passed away on August 7, 2014 at age 88 after a long and fulfilling life. Born and raised in Rochester, Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Detroit and an MBA from Harvard upon his return from the war. He retired from Kodak after a 41-year career. Bob loved music, playing golf, and was an avid Notre Dame sports fan. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at St. Ann's Home and Christ the King Church. His strength, his loving family, and his deep and abiding faith are his legacy.Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan (Donovan) Norton; his four children and their spouses: Michael (Monica), Kate, Meghan, and John (Sarah); and his beloved grandchildren, who referred to him affectionately as "Bepa": Madeline, Kelsey, Ryley, Ryan, Emily, and Liam. He was predeceased by his parents, Emmett and Irene, his brother John, and his sister Margaret (Sister Rosaire).Bob's funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Chapel, 1500 Portland Ave. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
