Obituary of Richard Jackson


NORTH BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Richard C. Jackson were held from Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, April 28, 2007, where the Mass of Resurrection was offered by the Rev. James Doherty, pastor and the Rev. Michael Demasi, retired pastor. A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the Mass.The organist was Louise Gauthier and the soloist was Mildred Pierce. Musical selections offered during the Mass were “Be Not Afraid,” “Prayer of Saint Francis,” “Bread Blest and Broken” and “On Eagles Wings.”The funeral pall that draped Mr. Jackson’s casket during the mass was placed by his daughters Susan Yandow, Maria Jackson and Colleen Stevens. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Maria Jackson. The Old Testament reading was offered by a son-in-law Thomas Yandow. The New Testament Reading was offered by a family friend Jack Galvin. The offertory gifts were presented by Mr. Jackson’s daughter Susan, her husband Thomas Yandow and their children, Adam, Tim and Rachel. A eulogy was offered by a son-in-law Casey Stevens.Serving as pall bearers were Brian Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Leslie Jackson, Allen Clickner, Tom McGarry, Ed McGarry and Dustin Bruso.The burial took place in the family lot in Saint John’s Cemetery in North Bennington with Father Doherty and Father Demasi offering the committal prayers.A reception followed the service at the North Bennington Congregational Church Hall.Mr. Richard C. Jackson, 73, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at his residence in Essex.Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT.
