Obituary of Richard D. Alley


Richard D. Alley -->Richard D. Alley, of Kingston, passed away July 12, 2011 at 83 years old. Dick lived in Walpole for many years where he was actively involved in Blessed Sacrament Parish. He has been in Kingston for the last 21 years. In his early years he worked for Neptune Meter Company in New York for 25 years and has been with Shaws supermarket in Plymouth for 20 years until retiring this year. Dick was an artistic man, excelling in drawing and painting. He had a passion for music and played the banjo, harmonica and was a self-taught guitar player. His love for the banjo led to the start of the group the Stone Street Strummers in the early 1980s which still exists today. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Beloved husband of the late Veronica (Roth) Alley. Devoted father of Patricia C. Coronite and her husband Thomas of Weymouth, and Lena M. Golden. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Coronite, Christina Golden and Michael Golden. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, East Weymouth, at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street) Friday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 1309 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02446. www.McDonald-FuneralHomes.com.
