Obituary of Ralph A. Norton

Ralph A. Norton -->Ralph A. Norton, age 87, died peacefully, Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Weymouth Health Care Center. Ralph was born, raised and educated in Boston and graduated from Hyde Park High School. He had lived in Quincy for forty-five years, previously living in South Weymouth and Milton. He also enjoyed spending time at his home in Madison, N.H., for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and later served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Ralph was employed as a mechanical engineer for the Robert Reiser Company and worked in Boston and Canton for thirty years, retiring in 1992. Ralph was a longtime member of Saint Josephs Parish in Quincy Point and was a life member of the American Legion State House Post 0462. Beloved husband of the late Mary E. (McDonald) Norton, he was the devoted father of Cynthia Norton Chung and her husband Chinsoo of Quincy, and the late Judith F. Norton and James Norton; loving grandfather of Sara and Steven Chung. Ralph was the last of ten siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, One Independence Avenue, Quincy, Tuesday, October 28, at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Josephs Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Monday 4-7 p.m. Interment with military honors at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
