RINGOES, N.J. - Robert "Scott" Hanlon, 42, died Oct. 13, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, after being struck by a vehicle. He was born March 8, 1967, in Neptune, the son of Robert Thomas and Patricia Rustic Hanlon of Woodstock, Vt. He was a heavy equipment operator for G.S. Likus Co. out of Tewksbury. Previously, he owned his own trucking company and was also a head chef for Ross and Owens Catering out of Bedminister.Mr. Hanlon was a former volunteer fireman for Bridgewater Township Fire Company, Foothill Road station.He was an avid NASCAR, Giants and Steelers football and Yankees baseball fan. He was also a coach for the Flemington-Raritan girl's softball league and the Flemington Flames softball team. Survivors include his parents; a son, Robert Hanlon Jr. of Doylestown, Pa.; a daughter, Alexandra Hanlon of Trenton; a sister, Terry Gault of Woodstock, Vt.; his former wife, Jacquie Hill of Doylestown; several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and the funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, all at the Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home Lebanon.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad, 26 State Hwy. 12 West, Flemington, NJ 08822.
