Obituary of Patrick-Charles Haley

Funeral for Patrick Charles Haley, 16, of Decatur will be Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Decatur Baptist Church Holmes Chapel with the Rev. Doug Ripley and Charles Littrell officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the church.Patrick, who died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, in Hartselle, was born July 3, 1989, in Decatur to Richard and Karen Lindsey Haley. He attended Danville Road Church of Christ as well as Decatur Baptist Church. He was a junior at Austin High School where he was a proud member of the Austin Marching Band. He was also a member of the Robotics Club and Alabama Family Anglers. Patrick’s pride and joy was his homemade computer. He was also a cancer survivor. His grandfather, Walter Smith, preceded him in death. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Ricky and Sandy Haley of Vinemont; his mother and stepfather, Karen and Ray McKelvey of Decatur; one sister, Erica Haley of Decatur; one brother, Paul Haley of Decatur; grandparents, Dovell and Carolyn Haley, and Barbara Lindsey, all of Decatur, and Dean Terry of Hillsboro; stepgrandmother, Betty Sue Smith of Decatur; two stepbrothers, Derrick Ransom and Dwain Floyd and his wife, Heather, all of Vinemont; and one stepsister, Jennifer Ransom of Vinemont. Pallbearers will be the Austin High School Band Tuba Section.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research at Children’s Hospital in Patrick’s name.
