JORDAN, Patricia Elizabeth (Girard) a resident of Brooksville, has died after a long illness. She was 81 years old. Born May 18, 1930, in San Diego, CA, Patricia "Pat" Jordan graduated from St. Vincent's High School in Vallejo, CA and went on to receive her RN degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing in San Francisco. Following in the footsteps of her father, Navy Lt. Commander Richard C. Girard, she joined the military and served honorably as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. She was stationed first at the Portsmith Naval Hospital in Virginia and then at Mare Island Naval Hospital in Vallejo, where she met her future husband, Benjamin. They married in 1954. In 1962, the couple settled in Peabody, MA where they raised their family. In 1977 they moved to Brooksville. Pat enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse both in the United States and in Saudi Arabia. She dedicated her life to the healing arts and helping others. An open memorial service will be held at Christian church in the Wildwood (date to be announced) and in Lawrenceville, GA. The family would like to express their eternal thanks to all the friends, caregivers and hospice personnel who worked tirelessly and with deep compassion and sensitivity to care for Pat. Specifically, they wish to express gratitude to Dr. Howard Glicksman who spent countless hours with his patient. He saw her not only as a patient, but as a friend. The family recognizes Dr. Glicksman for his sensitivity, warmth, kindness and humanity. Pat is survived by her four children Richard of Los Angeles, CA; Robert of Albuquerque, NM; James, of Copper Center, AK; and Cathryn Oma (Jordan) Wharton of Spring Hill, FL. She also leaves her loving sisters, Eileen DeVille of Lawrenceville, GA and Kathleen Lindner of Nampa, ID, as well as their husbands Gene and Al, respectively, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Her husband, Benjamin Pitman Jordan preceded her in death in 1987, as did her brother George Girard. She would also thank her daughter's beloved husband Randy, and her son James's loving wife Sharon, as well as Dana P. Jordan and Neil Jordan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a memorial gift be made to HPH Hospice Center http://www.hph-hospice.org/donations-2.
