Obituary of Nancy Thomas

THOMAS, NancyAfter over 94 years of gracing our world, Nancy passed away in her home on August 20, 2012. She has left behind her daughter Carrol Ann, son Randy and daughter-in-law Susan, along with her most treasured grandsons Jordan (Judy and Maria) and Evan. Nancy cherished her sisters Dilys (Winston), Norah, Barbara (Bud) and Diana, her many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Wales and her dear friend Pat Beynon. Family and friends were everything to her; giving so much love to each of us. In 1982, she lost the love of her life Tim. The loss caused a hole in her heart but with the determination and discipline that was such a part of her life she made a choice to focus on others. She made Edmonds Senior's Centre her second home and from there made a huge difference to the world we live in. Her strength was felt by all as she took on more and more activities and responsibility. In 2006, the family celebrated with her as she was honoured as Burnaby's Outstanding Citizen of the Year. We would like to thank Dr. David Dyment and Judith who always gave Mom the time and respect she deserved and to the Burnaby Health Nurses (Team 22 East B) who supported our family throughout this journey. We invite you to join us in celebrating all that Mom accomplished and the love that she shared with us. The Celebration will take place on Thursday, September 20 at 1 p.m. in the Clubhouse at the Riverway Golf Course, 9001 Bill Fox Way in Burnaby. In the spirit of Nancy, we encourage you to take some time to volunteer or share an act of kindness with someone in your life.
