NANCY ANNE THOMAS ST. ALBANS - Nancy Anne Thomas, age 85, a longtime resident of St. Albans, passed away on July 3, 2011, in Northwestern Medical Center following a long illness. Nancy was born on May 19, 1926, in Cleveland, OH to Dr. Sidney and Grace Littman. Nancy attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. and Goddard College in Plainfield, where she met her future husband, Charles W. Thomas. They were married in Barre on Oct. 30, 1948. Nancy was a longtime volunteer for many organizations, including Northwestern Medical Center (formerly Kerbs Hospital) where she accumulated over 2000 hours of service over a period of 47 years. During those years she also volunteered at the St. Albans Free Library and the Red Cross Blood Drives. Nancy loved to play golf, attend musical performances and was an avid reader of mystery novels. Nancy is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Anne Trahan and her husband, Paul; daughter, Patricia Morin and her husband, Robert; and son, Stephen and his wife, Tina. Nancy is also survived by granddaughter, Amy Ferguson and her husband, Brett, and their two sons, Jack and Wil. A reception for Nancy will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Congregational Church in St. Albans (parking lot entrance). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Nancy's name to the Franklin County Humane Society and the St. Albans Free Library.
