Obituary of Mr. -James-Edgar Ray

WOODSTOCK - Funeral service for James Edgar Ray, 69, will be Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at Rockford Church of God with the Rev. Darrell Lett officiating. Burial will be in the Ray Family Cemetery. Mr. Ray will lie in state at the church from 10-11 a.m. Mr. James Edgar Ray passed away Jan. 13, 2010, at UAB Medical West Hospital in Bessemer. He was born on May 24, 1940, in Lanett. He is preceded in death by his mother, Pallie Ray and father, James T. Ray of Rockford; and a brother, T.J. Ray of Rockford. Survivors are his wife, Mary Sue Ray of Woodstock; stepsons, Bobby, Kevin, and James Rogers; stepdaughter, Jennifer Chandler; sisters, Estelle Clark of Equality, Twyler Hardeman of Rockford, Sue Evans (Raymond) and Carolyn Evans (Rachael) both of Wetumpka; brothers, Fred Ray (Ann) of Atlanta, Ga., and Larry Steve Ray (Glenda) of Wetumpka; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be Jan. 15, from 6-7 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.curtisandsonfh.com. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
