Services for Mr. Dewayne Allen Thomas, 55, of Piedmont, will be Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Thankful Baptist Church in Piedmont with the Rev. Bobby J. Hall officiating. Burial will be in Piedmont Memorial Gardens with Anniston Funeral Services in charge. The body will be at the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home Mr. Thomas died on April 9, 2010 at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include two sons, Marcus Thomas, of Gadsden and Clint Nation, of Union Springs; a devoted companion, Margie Header; special children, Marilyn and Max Header, Jamie and Aundra Palmore; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Willie James (Yvonne) Thomas, of Selma, Gerald (Patricia), of Anniston, Bernard (Ann) Thomas, of Piedmont; two sisters, Carolyn Kennedy, of Anniston and Sharon (Franklin) Garrett, of Jacksonville; two aunts, Shirley Morris and Mattie Morris, both of Anniston; special friend, Jeff Harbour; several nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Mr. Thomas was a Piedmont native and a graduate of Piedmont High School. He retired from National Guard Armory #2025. Worked at various textile manufactories before driving commercial trucks. He attended Saint Luke Holiness Church in Piedmont and attended Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Piedmont. Anniston Funeral Services "Where service begins and never ends." 256-236-0319
