Andrew Jackson, 93, of Riverview, Fla., and formerly of Columbus, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Brandon, Fla. Mr. Jackson was a member of Big Bend United Methodist Church, Riverview. He retired from Cummins in 1978 after 28 years. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Washington Lodge 13, Brownstown, for more than 50 years. Born Feb. 18, 1916, in Clay City, Ky., he was the son of G.B. "Green" Jackson and Nellie Doyle Jackson, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 6, 1940, in Shelbyville, Ky., he married Omega Wheeler Jackson, who preceded him in death March 18, 2007. Survivors include a son, Terry Lee (Nancy) Jackson, Riverview, Fla.; grandchildren, Andrew Patrick (Michelle) Jackson and Evan Lee (Claudine) Jackson; great-grandchildren, Brian Lee Jackson, Lindsay Alexandra Jackson and Grant Patrick Jackson; a niece, Sonja Jackson; and a nephew, Joseph Jackson. He was preceded in death by a twin brother at birth, Elijah; one sister, Fannie Jackson; and one brother, Robert Jackson. Jerry Wheeler will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial, with military graveside services, will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
