Obituary of Mary Malley

BELLOWS FALLS -- Mary Catherine (Wolfe) Malley, 86, of Forest Street, died early Monday morning, Aug. 11, 2003, at her home surrounded by family and friends.She was born Sept. 23, 1916, the daughter of Richard James Wolfe and Nora (Hogan) Wolfe in Bellows Falls.She graduated from St. Charles School in 1930 and Bellows Falls High School in 1934.On June 30, 1946, she married John Joseph Malley Jr., who died on June 11, 2001.She lived and worked in Bellows Falls her entire life. Initially she worked for New England Telephone Co. and later as co-owner of Kane's Pharmacy for 30 years with Edward and Madeline Kane.Her love of music was a lifelong hobby. She was a member of the St. Charles Choir for over 40 years and also played several musical instruments, bringing joy to others on many occasions. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the St. Charles Rosary Society and was also active in the Home Demonstration Group and the Quilting Club.Mrs. Malley is survived by a daughter, Anne Malley Corrinet of Greenfield, Mass.; two sons, John Joseph Malley III and James Thomas of Bellows Falls; a sister, Madeline Kane of Bellows Falls; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
