Obituary of Mary-Lou-Allen Morris


Mary Lou Allen Morris Mary Lou Allen Morris, 82, of Monticello, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at her home in Monticello's Waukeenah Community. Services will be at 2 p.m. EDT on Saturday, Feb. 21, from Mt. Ararat AME Church in Waukeenah, with burial at the church cemetery. The Rev. Ted Houston will officiate. Viewing-visitation will be on Friday at Tillman Funeral Home (850-977-5553) from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. A native of Jefferson County, Mrs. Morris lived most of her life in Immokalee, Fla., where she taught at Pinecrest Elementary School.After retiring, she returned to her native Monticello. She was a longtime member of Mt. Ararat Church where she served in numerous capacities. Among those mourning Mrs. Morris' passing are her daughter, Patricia Nealy of Monticello, grandson, Patrick Nealy; and two great-grandsons, Patrick Jr. and Trevon Nealy, all of Tallahassee; sisters, Bernice A. Vaughn and Louise A. (Moses) King of Monticello and Addie Slav of Chicago, Ill; brothers-in-law, Thomas Glenn of Monticello, Fla., Willie Nealy of Immokalee and Stepp Mosley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Mrs. Morris was predeceased by her parents, William Joseph and Ola Roberts Allen; brother, David Henry Allen; and sisters, Willie Mae Williams, Hattie Nealy, Dorothy Watson, Beatrice Glenn, Mattie Thompson and Mae Ola Mosley.
