Obituary of Mary Jensen

JENSEN, MARY "LONNIE," 87, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Horizon Bay Retirement Living of Louisville. The former Lonnie Smith was born in Louisville on January 3, 1924 to the late Billy Smith, Sr. and Anna Malcomb. In 1941, Lonnie graduated from Presentation Academy. She was a member of the Women's Club of Lyndon, a former member of Fern Creek Women's Club, and a member and Past President of the Foxmore-Graymoor Women's Club. She held two appointed offices with the Kentucky Federation of Women and was an accountant with Schenley Distilleries. Lonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Paul E. Jensen, who passed away in 2011; brothers, Malcomb C. Smith, Billy Smith, Jr., Thomas Y. Smith; and sisters, Kathryn A. Hendren and Anne M. Smith. She is survived by many loving nieces, Kathryn Maerz (John), Anne Simmons (Dan), Betty Dysart, Barbara Steinback (Jim), Brenda Strause (Jim), Bernice Scherr (Ed), Belinda Smith; nephews Mark Smith (Cathy) and T Y Smith Jr. (Michelle). Lonnie's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 212 Mount Mercy Drive, Pewee Valley, KY with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens East immediately following. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. on Sunday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorville Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kosair Children's Hospital.
