Obituary of Mary Hanratty

HANRATTY, Mary Gladys October 8, 1914 - February 6, 2009 Predeceased by husband Wilfred. Gladys is survived by three sons, Michael (Bette), Gordon, and Peter (Trudy); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Gladys was one of Edmonton's Business pioneers, establishing House of Hanratty. She was a Life Member of Soroptimist International, Women's Musical Club of Edmonton, Edmonton Opera Association, Canadian Restaurant Association, and a Life member of Robertson-Wesley United Church. She was a recipient of the YWCA Women of Distinction Entrepreneurs award and Chatelaine's Women On The Go award for Outstanding Canadian Women. A Memorial Service will be held at Robertson-Wesley United Church, 10209-123 Street, on February 26 at 1:00 p.m. In memory of Gladys donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
