Obituary of Mary Everett


Mary Everett Housley, 91 MILLIS, Mass. -- Mary Everett Housley, 91, of Millis, Mass., died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 6, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Harold J. and Alice (Foster) Everett. Mary was raised in Portland, and graduated from the Waynflete School in 1934. She was a 1938 graduate of Wellesley College. After years of volunteer activity, Mary entered the business field for a short time. She was employed with Milton Academy as their first Director of Admissions for girls, and later held the same position at the Dana Hall School for Girls in Wellesley. At the time of her retirement she was working as the assistant to the President of a small corporation in Wellesley. Mary enjoyed her work, family and gardening. Wife of the late Richard A. Housley, she is survived by four children, Richard A. Housley Jr. of Hanover, Mass., Susan Ashley of Orono, Pamela Housley of Chelmsford, Mass., and Andrea Quinlan of Yorba Linda, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a sister, Lena Everett, late of Brunswick, and a brother, Edward Everett, late of Cave Creek, Ariz. No services are planned. Mary Everett Housley
