Obituary of Mary-Ellen Dwyer

November 10, 2008 Mary Ellen (Connors) Dwyer, 87, died on Monday after a short illness at her home in Syracuse. She was a graduate of the Convent School and attended Mount St. Vincent College. Mrs. Dwyer was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; sisters, Therese Michaels, Sally McLaughlin; and a brother, Jack Connors. She is survived by her children, Mary Pat (Richard) Salanger, Anne Dwyer, Bernadette (Bill) Timmins, Joan (Jeff) Buckley, Rosemary (Matt) Olszewski, Joe Jr. (Linda), Martin (Mary Beth), P.J. (Kim), Julie (Jim) Brien; two brothers, James Connors of TX, Bernard Connors of CA; grandchildren, Stephanie, Amy, Tim, Colleen, Mary Katherine, Chrissy, Mallory, Stan, Peter, Ellen, Will, Marie, Meghan, Joe III, Max, Martin Jr., Sarah, Clare, Alexander, Jaime, Erin, Allison, Riley, Jessica, Emily, Becky, Nate; a great-grandson, Colm; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Friday at 10 a.m. at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Pompey. Calling hours are Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament School, 3131 James Street, Syracuse, 13206.
