Obituary of Mary-A. Jensen

JENSEN Mary A. "Billie" Jensen, 90, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007. She was born on September 22, 1916 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents, Simon and Mabel Muncey. Mrs. Jensen had been the former Dean of Women and a Biology teacher at Clay High School as well as the Dean of Women at Flagler College. She had served on the Clay County Education Board of Directors as well as the Committee on Teacher Education and the Clay County Development Authority. Mrs. Jensen was a former president of Woman's Club of Green Cove Springs and a former president of St. Mary's Guild Episcopal Church in Green Cove Springs. Mrs. Jensen loved to swim, paint, read, sew and going to school. She was a very special woman who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Jensen was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Russell George Jensen and is survived by her 5 daughters, Joanne Russell Jensen, Lt. Col., Ret., Linda Gordon Jensen, Wendy Kay Denkhaus (Don), Carolyn June Jensen and Mary Lee Harp (John); grandchildren, Russell Campbell, Cindy and Kimberly Denkhaus and Ian Harp and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, September 14, 2007 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 15, 2007 in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 310 S.
