Obituary of Mary-A. Fagan

LOWELL -- Mary A. (Davis) Fagan, 82, died Monday, April 18, at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford. She was the wife of William L. Fagan Sr., who died in 2000, for 48 years.She was born in Lowell on March 20, 1923, daughter of the late Richard C. and Helen C. (Sullivan) Davis. She attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.Mrs. Fagan worked many years for the former New England Telephone Co. and Demoulas Supermarkets. Before retiring, she was employed with the Tewksbury State Hospital Nursing Department for 10 years.She was a communicant of St. Margaret Parish, where she was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lowell Knights of Columbus, Council 72.Her survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William L. Jr. and Barbara A. Fagan of Ligonier, Pa., and Thomas R. Fagan of Dracut; five grandchildren, Lisa H. Fagan of Chicago, William L. Fagan III and Andrew C. Fagan, both of Ligonier, Pa., and Philip J. and Patrick L. Fagan, both of Dracut; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard F. and Kathleen Davis of Sarasota, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.She was also the mother-in-law of Claire D. Fagan, who died March 19; and sister of the late Helen Jeffers and Patricia Davis.
