Obituary of Marjorie-Pool Harrell

HARRELL Marjorie Pool Harrell, 99, passed away February 9, 2011. She was born February 21, 1911 in South Norfolk, VA. She was an active member of St. Paul's by the Sea Episcopal Church. She received her teaching degree from the University of VA and taught for over 35 years. Marjorie and her family moved to the beaches area in 1967 where she began volunteering for Beaches Hospital Auxiliary from 1967 to 1990. She was a member of the Beaches Historical Society and a lifelong member of the National Storytellers League, founding the beaches chapter in 1982. Marjorie is survived by her son, Buddy Harrell; grandchildren, Daniel Gallagher, David Gallagher, Patricia Gallagher, William Gallagher, Valorie Stoeber and Trey Harrell; and 10 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 in St. Paul's by the Sea Episcopal Church with the Rev. Deborah Jackson officiating.
