Obituary of Maria-L. Valente

ARLINGTON, Mass. -- Maria L. (Nardella) Valente, of Arlington died May 14, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Biagio and Felicia (Salipante) Nardella. She was a member of the St. Cosmas & Damian Society since 1976 and its president for the past 27 years. IN HER LIFE: Family members include a son, Robert Valente of New Hampshire; stepdaughter, Anna Giglio and her husband, Al, of Reading, Mass.; stepsons, Louis P. "Dan" Valente and his wife, Jeanne, of Weston, Mass., and Joseph Valente of Washington; grandchildren, Alessandra and Robert Valente; eight step-grandchildren; and sister, Civitina Iodice of Italy. She was predeceased by her husband, Luigi Valente. SERVICES: Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Cota-Struzziero-McKenna Fuuneral Home, 197 Washington St., Somerville, Mass. The funeral is Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral Mass is Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington, Mass.
