Obituary of Margarita Garcia

GARCIA, Margarita, 69, passed away Friday, March 24, 2006, in Tampa. She was born in Cuba and immigrated to the U.S. in 1966. Margarita owned and operated the original Margarita's Restaurant in Tampa. Margarita was preceded in death by her parents, Damaso and Maria Julietta Garcia; and two brothers Augustine and Damaso Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Cari Taylor, and her husband, Bryan; grand-daughter, Kristen; sister, Marta Valentin, and her husband, Santiago; her nephews, Luis (Rosa) and Alex Gonzalez; her niece, Marta Fiallo (Tony); and their children; her extended family, Nancy Taylor, Julie Taylor and Diane Withee; and many wonderful friends especially Josephine, Xiomara and Sylvia. A gathering of friends will take place at 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Gonzalez Funeral Home, with a memorial service to begin at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Foundation. The family would like to thank the faculty and staff members at University Community Hospital for all of their kindness and care during her stay at the hospital.
