Obituary of Margaret-White Nugent

Margaret White Nugent, 106, Sarasota, died July 25, 2003. She was born March 21, 1897, in Southampton, N.Y., and came to Sarasota in 1987 from East Hampton, N.Y. After receiving a bachelor of science degree in 1920 from Teachers College, Columbia University, she worked as an assistant clinical pathologist in the clinical pathology laboratory at New York Hospital. She was a member of The Church of the Palms in Sarasota and First Presbyterian Church in East Hampton where she taught Sunday school and was president of the women's association. She was a member of the Eastern Gate Garden Club, the Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include a son, Dr. Paul F. Jr. of Xenia, Ohio; and a daughter, Margaret N. Conklin of Bridgehampton, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home.
