Obituary of Margaret-Allen-Roper Jordan


Royston - Mrs. Margaret Allen Roper Jordan, 81, of 2475 Hwy. 17, Royston, Ga., died Thursday December 31, 2009, at her home.Mrs. Jordan was born in Franklin County, Ga., February 8, 1928, daughter of the late Jim Ace Allen and the late Annie Bowers Allen McLane. She was retired, having worked with Johnson & Johnson and was a lifelong member of the Rice Creek Baptist Church.Survivors include husband, Alton Jordan of Royston, Ga.; daughters & sons-in-law, Joanna & Jerry Hall of Royston, Ga., and Jan & Mike Black of Hartwell, Ga.; two granddaughters, Melissa Lunsford & Mikaela Black; two great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by one brother, A.B. Allen.Funeral services for Mrs. Jordan will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Meeks and Rev. Larry Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston, Ga.The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga., where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Saturday evening. The family is at the home.Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Hospice Advantage, 135 Athens W.
