Obituary of Martha-Christine-Morrison Henderson

HENDERSON, Martha Christine Morrison, 86, died onThursday, December 2, 2010at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Home in Columbia,South Carolina. Mrs. Henderson had been a resident atStill Hopes for the past 15years. Mrs. Henderson wasborn in Trenton, Georgia inJanuary, 1924. She lived inMontgomery, Alabama formany years and retired fromemployment with the State ofAlabama. She was a dedicated member of FriendshipPresbyterian Church in HopeHull, Alabama and StateStreet Baptist Church in WestColumbia, SC. Survivorsinclude her two children,Judith Evans and husbandLawton (Bill) Evans of Beaufort, SC; Joe Henderson andwife Jan Henderson of Southlake, TX; four grandchildren,Rebecca Battle-Bryant andhusband Drayton Bryant ofOrangeburg, SC; ChristineGoodwin and husband LTCMichael Goodwin of Ft. Riley,KS; Kristen Kulling and husband Michael Kulling of Stillwater, OK; Joe Henderson, Jr.and fiancT Laura Deaton ofDallas, TX; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Goodwin,Sarah Grace Goodwin, VivianBryant, Mackendrick Kullingand Kate Kulling. She is alsosurvived by her brother,James Morrison and his wifeJewel Morrison of Trenton,GA. Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin andGrace Austin Morrison of Trenton, GA; her husband, Frederick Lewis Henderson of HopeHull, AL; and two children, William Franklin Henderson andRebecca Christine Henderson. A memorial service willbe held in the chapel at StillHopes on Sunday, December5, 2010 at 4 o'clock. A visitation will occur at Leak Memorial Chapel, Montgomery, AL,on Tuesday, December 7,2010 at 10 o'clock followedby a graveside service atGreenwood Cemetery at 11o'clock. Memorials may bemade to the Still Hopes Residents' Assistance Fund at POBox 2959, West Columbia, SC29171.
