Obituary of Lucy-Anna Paul

Lucy Anna (Paul) LaRue, 91, of New Hartford, entered into rest on Saturday, (February 19, 2005) at her home after a courageous year long battle with metastatic breast cancer and congestive heart failure. She was the loving wife of the late John R. LaRue. Born December 9, 1913, in Indian Orchard, MA; the daughter of the late Adolphe and Delvina (Bergeron) Paul. As a young girl, she lived in Springfield, MA and St. Germaine in the Quebec Province until she moved to Bristol. She has lived in New Hartford for nine years with her daughter, Linda. She spent most of her life as a caring wife, mother and homemaker. Her grace, faith and ability to listen to people and offer wise words of encouragement were lifelong blessings to all who knew her. She was a talented gardener, seamstress, needlepointer, and knitter with a great sense of style. A true nature lover, she enjoyed birdwatching and botanical identification. She enjoyed long walks along the Cape Cod bay in North Truro until illness started to slow her down as she neared her 90th birthday. She is survived by; a daughter, Linda LaRue and her husband David Zitzkat of New Hartford; a son, Paul LaRue and his wife Laurie of Bristol; four grandchildren, Jon-Marc and Sage LaRue-Zitzkat, and Brian and Craig LaRue. In addition to her husband, John, she was pre-deceased by; infant daughters, Jeanine Anita and Linda Anne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 24, at the Immaculate Conception Church, New Hartford at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 23, at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford, 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Immaculate Conception Homeless Shelter, PO Box 260669, Hartford, CT 06126.
