Obituary of Louis Etienne

ST. MARTINVILLE -Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Louis Etienne Sr., 87, who died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.Mr. Etienne was a parishioner and also served as an usher at Notre Dame Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife, Tellamay T. Etienne, of St. Martinville; his son, David Etienne, of St. Martinville; his daughters, Verna M. Garrett and her husband, Joe, of Maryland, Margaret E. Savoy and her husband, Willie A., and Kathleen M. Guidry and her husband, William, all of St. Martinville; his sister, Mable E. Daggs, of Marrero; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his children, Jane M. Etienne, Louis Etienne Jr. and Billy J. Etienne.The family requests visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. today and will continue from 7 a.m. Thursday until time of service.A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. this evening.Pellerin Funeral Homes of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
